Christoph Kolonko – Attorney-at-Law & Of Counsel
As an attorney-at-law and Of Counsel at ByteLaw, I advise companies in legally complex, often creative and technology-driven contexts – with a clear focus on guidance, clarity and strategic certainty in an increasingly digital world.
My areas of expertise include advertising law, competition law and intellectual property, complemented by deep experience in contract law, data protection and IT law, e-commerce, and all legal aspects of digitalization – from AI applications and data-driven business models to regulatory requirements in digital communication.
I advise clients from a wide range of industries – including automotive manufacturers and associations, financial institutions, beauty and fashion brands, major industry associations, and creative industry companies such as advertising agencies and design studios. Many of my engagements are cross-border – often in the context of international campaigns or involving complex regulatory requirements.
I am the Chairman of Adlaw International, a global network of leading advertising law firms, and am actively involved in the legal profession as a board member of the Frankfurt Bar Association and the Regional Bar Association of Hessen within the German Bar Association (DAV).
For many years, I was also a lecturer in business law and I regularly publish – including as co-author of the Hamburger Kommentar Gesamtes Medienrecht (currently 4th edition, Nomos Publishing).
My approach combines legal precision with commercial understanding and an eye for the individual needs of each client.
